The Prayers of A Righteous Man

By Barbara J. Scott
In this day and time men need encouragement like never before. They need to know that they are loved and very much need in this world. They also need Godly wisdom and understanding of the ways of the kingdom of God. Jesus is our supreme example in how to live as holy men of God. He prayed often to the Father, putting His earthly life completely in God's hands.
The Prayers of A Righteous Man

In this day and time men need encouragement like never before.  They need to know that they are loved and very much need in this world.  They also need Godly wisdom and understanding of the ways of the kingdom of God.  Jesus is our supreme example in how to live as holy men of God.  He prayed often to the Father, putting His earthly life completely in God's hands.  Even though He was very God and man, He looked to the Father for everything. In the same way men must look to the father for everything. The world says you should be macho men, showing how tough you are.  But Jesus is calling for men who are strong in spirit, men who are willing to serve and love Him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength: men who are willing to go to Him in prayer, not leaning on their own mind for understanding, but putting everything in His hands, acknowledging that God is in control of all things, and He it is, who directs our paths. (Luke 10:27; Proverbs 3:5-6). It is not the physical that God looks at, that's what the world looks at to determine if a man is strong or not.  God looks at the heart, what a man is like on the inside.  Pumping iron, running, jogging, eating healthy, all may be good for the body, but it doesn't make for a healthy soul.  The Father wants men who are willing to commune with Him in prayer, seeking His face, seeking His will.  "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16b.

The Word of God says that if any man be in Christ, he is made new, and all the old sinful things in his life are no longer a part of him. He is therefore fit to be used by God for the glory of the kingdom of God. "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Micah 6:8.

Jesus has given you authority over all the powers of the enemy and power to trample on serpents and scorpions: this is the authority of the believer. You have the victory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and nothing shall harm you. (Luke 10:19). Now walk in the authority that God has given you, and the greatest part of this authority is that you can pray and know that God always hears and answers your prayers. "And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for." 1 John 5:15.  Stand strong, you mighty men of God; fight the good fight of faith: you are on the winning side.
