No Camping Here

By Barbara J. Scott
Watch out for the enemy after you have received a great victory or deliverance from the Lord. Satan knows he is defeated and now he will try to sow discouragement in your mind. And this can happen especially if you are tired and worn out from battling the enemy, which was probably the case with Elijah.
No Camping Here

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1. Have you ever been fearful of a human being?  Some people have enemies who will try to hurt them physically.  Elijah was one who had enemies and one was a woman, the king's wife, Jezebel. After Elijah had won a great victory in getting rid of the prophets of the idol god, Baal, Jezebel vowed to kill him. (Read I Kings chapters 18 & 19).  Elijah was literally afraid and eventually ended up hiding in a cave.  And God asked him what he was doing in that cave.

Watch out for the enemy after you have received a great victory or deliverance from the Lord.  Satan knows he is defeated and now he will try to sow discouragement in your mind. And this can happen especially if you are tired and worn out from battling the enemy, which was probably the case with Elijah.  He even prayed for God to take his life: Elijah needed a refreshing from the Lord, and God sent angels to feed him and give him water to drink. After that, he was able to travel for 40 days and nights to Horeb, the mount of God.  It was there he found the cave and stayed there.  But God did not allow him to stay in that cave, he still had work to do.

There are times when we may feel like giving up and going into retirement from doing the work of the Lord.  Especially when we have enemies pursuing us, physically and spiritually. But God is the One Who tells us when our time is over and He encourages us to keep trusting Him, that He has our back. Listen to what David said about his enemies: "When I cry unto Thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me." Psalm 56:9 & 11.  Now is not the time for finding a cave and camping out from the enemy.  Remember, we are more than conquerors because we are always fighting from the winning side.  Don't listen to the enemy telling you, you need to quit.  It is always too soon to quit.  Wear him out, put on the whole armor of God and get back into the battle.  There is no such thing as AWOL (Absent Without Leave) in this war!  "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds:) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

Whatever you need to win, God has already provided for you. You will not lack anything, every soldier in God's army is well equipped to fight and win. Just know that whatever and whoever your enemy may be, we don't have to camp out in a cave for fear because God said He will cover us with His feathers and His Word shall be our shield and buckler: trust His Word, it will stand forever, it is settled in heaven and it will not change. "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the LORD." Isaiah 54:17.
