When God Breathes in Your Direction

By Barbara J. Scott
The same wind that seemingly is blowing you in so many negative ways; blowing all kinds of trouble, disappointments, pain and suffering into your life; is the same breath of God that is blowing you into the predestination He has set up for your life. You are predestinated and foreordained for good works. God is building character in you. He is building integrity, strengthening your faith, building trust and patience: setting you up for a blessing.
When God Breathes in Your Direction

The same wind that seemingly is blowing you in so many negative ways; blowing all kinds of trouble, disappointments, pain and suffering into your life; is the same breath of God that is blowing you into the predestination He has set up for your life. You are predestinated and foreordained for good works. God is building character in you. He is building integrity, strengthening your faith, building trust and patience: setting you up for a blessing. "A blessing?", you say. "Well it sure doesn't look like it from where I stand." That's because you can't see what the future holds for you; you can't see what lies beyond the bend in the road: but God can.

Joseph didn't know what was instore for him in the future, but God had great plans for his life. He went through testing and trials, great tribulation being in prison for years. But he never turned his back on God and God did not turn His back on Joseph. He remained true and humble before God, and God gave him the grace he needed for each and every day. "Be He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you… Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up." James 4:6-8a & 10. Joseph had no idea that he was being set up for a great blessing and to be a blessing to many for generations to come. Do you realize that there is not one word of Joseph complaining about his plight or blaming God or anyone for where he ended up in Egypt? He patiently endured all that he went through, and God was able to use him right where he was. (Read his story in Genesis chapters 39-50.)

Is God blowing His breath in your direction? If you are feeling a strain in your life, don't complain, don't blame anyone, just know that it is God moving you in position to be blessed; and go humbly and willingly. That strong wind is God's breath, breathing new life into you. Accept what God is allowing to come your way. And then thank and praise Him for the glory that is on the way. Because what you are going through cannot be compared to the glory that He has instore for you and for many others in your life. "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:18 & 28.
